Dr. Sagarika Das (she/her) works with children, teens, and families navigating anxiety, depression, emotional and behavioral challenges, ADHD, school-related stress, and life transitions. She specializes in working with children and teens experiencing mood and anxiety disorders, including phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), generalized anxiety disorder, and separation anxiety.
She is passionate about helping young people better understand themselves, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to navigate life’s challenges. Sagarika also enjoys working with parents to better understand their child’s needs and find practical ways to support their emotional well-being.
Sagarika strives to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where children and teens feel heard, understood, and accepted for who they are. She recognizes that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming for both young people and their parents, and believes that building a trusting therapeutic relationship is an important first step toward meaningful change. Her approach is strengths-based and tailored to each client’s unique needs, developmental stage, and family context. Drawing from evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) she helps clients better understand their emotions, navigate difficult thoughts and feelings, strengthen coping skills, and develop more flexible ways of responding to challenges.
Sagarika has experience supporting children and families navigating chronic medical conditions, including diabetes, chronic pain, headaches, and gastrointestinal concerns. She understands that managing a health condition can affect not only a child’s physical well-being, but also their emotions, relationships, school experiences, and day-to-day life. She works collaboratively with children and parents to strengthen coping skills, manage anxiety and distress, navigate medical treatment, and build confidence in managing health-related challenges.
Having worked across pediatric primary care, children’s hospitals, and adolescent mental health programs, Sagarika brings a broad understanding of the many factors that can affect a young person’s well-being. As a first-generation immigrant, she is particularly mindful of how cultural identity, family dynamics, and social experiences shape the way people understand themselves and navigate the world. She values creating a culturally responsive space where clients and families feel respected and where their individual experiences are understood within the larger context of their lives.
Outside of work, Sagarika loves spending time with her husband and two sons, exploring new cuisines and discovering delicious food, squeezing in a good workout, and enjoying sunny days at the beach.
